Move in Alignment with your Body’s Intelligence

FluidiQi: Consider Qi as the engine and fluids as the fuel/lubricant: the Engine (Qi) needs Fuel (fluids) to run, and the fuel needs the engine to move it around the system; both systems must be optimally operational for the machine to run with fluidity.

Fluidity can be an experience(s) of a moment or breath in your mind, body and spirit that when aligned will create ”an appropriate amount of stiffness for an anticipatory load with movement.” This can lead to “helping someone to regain belief in their body’s ability to move” (Dr. Brent Anderson), with command of the systems of the body, both internally and externally.

Qi has been defined as “the vital life force that flows through the body, sustaining physical, mental, and spiritual health. Rather than a single substance, Qi is a dynamic, interconnected process that reflects the balance and movement of energy within the body and between the individual and the environment.”

FluidiQi “Integrative Movement,” allows options of integrating body awareness, movement, and physiological regulation to support psychological coherence and conscious self-direction.

Finding fluidity in Qi is a way of exploring distribution of movement equals distribution of force. And the movement of Qi, is any frequency or vibration, of any form of matter liquid, solid, electromagnetic, light, sound, temperature, space, time, one’s aura and thoughts, or motion and interaction of subatomic particles (quantum biomechanics), etc. Finding a flow state of this orchestrated dance of the various forms of Qi is when one can experience there innate self in a moment of limitless movement options.

Movement is used not to “correct” the body, but to re-educate the relationship between anatomical structures, sensation, intention, emotion, and action.Or more simply:

It’s the synthesis of how we move, feel, and choose—through the body.

Feldenkrais Model stated “if you don’t know what you are doing, you can’t do what you want.” — “have an individual recognize/identify their habitual pattern, and then guide them through alternative movement options. They learn to notice the difference between habitual movement pattern when performing action/alternative patterns.” Bringing light to these dark areas of the body that are rarely attenuated helps recalibrate the nervous system response, structural change, and fluid changes, “thereby allowing us to develop or reach more emotional states. Moving sensing, thinking and feeling are inseparable, and this perception leads one to feel or be flexible”(or find fluidity), or be responsive and expressive in their thinking and emotional lives. The individual emotion is represented in a biotensegrity posture that one expresses at any given moment, or stated in another form, every emotion has a motion (or vice versa).

FluidiQi Mission

FluidiQi is a healing and movement integration practice dedicated to restoring balance, coordination, and vitality through the intelligent interplay of fluid systems, the nervous system, and structural organization of the body.

Rooted in science—while honoring the still-evolving understanding of human movement—FluidiQi integrates lived experience as an athlete of many sports, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, manual therapist, and movement practitioner with the clinical insights gained through years of patient-centered care. This work draws from diverse yet converging lineages, including Polestar Pilates, ZOGA Multidimensional Movement and Manual Therapy, myofascial and structural principles informed by mentors such as Tom Myers (Anatomy Trains), Sharon Wheeler (Bone and Scar Work), James Earls (Born to Walk, Myofascial Efficiency), as well as others, and the broader framework of Integrative Medicine through the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM).

At its core, FluidiQi supports individuals in “rediscovering their inherent rhythm, coordination, and adaptability—aligning conscious movement with subconscious and nervous system processes,” as articulated by Joseph Pilates. Beyond symptom relief or mechanical correction, this practice empowers people to embody movement that is efficient, expressive, resilient.

FluidiQi situates movement restoration within the wider context of health and happiness—honoring “exercise, nutrition, sleep hygiene, fresh air, sunshine, and a balanced relationship with life’s stressors through work, play, and rest.” The ultimate aim is not simply improved movement, but a sustainable, embodied experience of well-being that evolves with the individual over time.

FluidiQi operates as an experiential lab where diverse mind–body and movement methodologies are synthesized and individualized, honoring the uniqueness of each person’s physiology, nervous system, and lived experience. FluidiQi is intended to serve as an adjunct beyond an individual practice into a shared framework—much like other respected movement and integrative health institutions aforementioned—offering concepts, principles, and applications that can be studied, adapted, and implemented internationally. This open and evolving system is designed for clinicians, movement professionals, and individuals who are intrigued to explore, embody, and contribute to the ongoing refinement of how one can acquire internal and external movement based on the Individual (mind, body and spirit), one’s Environment (in nature as well as a diverse cultural and clinical contexts), Task Structure.

FluidiQi
Vision

Reconnecting fluid movement restores energetic rhythm, to align perception of how one thinks and moves.

To restore fluidity, adaptability, resilience, and joy by addressing movement dysfunction (“Pathokinesiology”) through individualized, integrative manual and movement approaches that honor the body–mind connection and each person’s unique life terrain as is, and then provides other options of one’s terrain of anatomy and one’s perception and ability to move (when our body moves as our mind moves) “can lead to an intersection between biology and energy” or “the flow and transformation of energy in and between living organisms and their environment, “ (Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance, James Oschman, Bioenergetics)
